Dak To Vietnam is the site of an airfield that was built by the French when they were here in the 1950s. During the time that the United States was fighting here in the 1960s and 1970s, several campaigns or operations were carried out at Dak To.
My name is Ernie Camacho. I came to Dak To in June of 1967 to set up the field for an operation called Operation Greeley (June 17 - Oct. 11), which morphed into Operation MacArthur that lasted until the end of January, 1968.
This website is dedicated to the men who participated in Operations Greeley and MacArthur, including members of the 4th Infantry Division, the 173 Airborne Brigade, and my unit, the 125 Air Traffic Company.
Other operations/battles at Dak To are also documented here (Hawthorne, 299th Engr)
Here you will find photos, newsletters and other documents, and some maps. My hope is that this website will be a source for learning about this place and campaigns and the men who fought and died here.
