Airstrikes, Artillery
We had a number of different artillery batteries stationed at the Dak To airfield. There were also many Fire Bases scattered between here and the border 15 miles to the west.
Large mortars, 105mm howitzers, and 175mm guns would make noise by day, and twin 40mm tracked anti-aircraft guns would fire into the hills, giving us a light show with the red tracers and bright explosions when they would detonate before hitting the hillside.
I'd swear I had some photos of jets making bombing runs, but I don't see them here. They will turn up and I'll add them.
