I am listening to the audio tapes as I type this. Tan Canh, which was very near the town of Dak To, was the HQ for a battalion of the ARVN 42d Regiment. I was there with other advisors preparing for the CA into the position I mentioned earlier. I got bored and went outside for a cigarette. I walked out to the flag post and was standing there when the ammo dump started to blow. I got to watch much of it!!! What a show, better than any 4th of July fireworks I have seen.
